Who knows about vading stripes?

Marcel Poots Aug 03, 2003 01:07 PM

My 2002 normal Striped female looks like she is somewhat fading. She is about 12 months old now. Is that the age Vading stripes start to loose pattern?

In my experience, the stripe on a "vanishing stripe" tends to fade with each shed until it is pretty much a uniform red/orange color by 6 months of age, if not sooner. The yellow on the sides will intensify as the animal matures.

Thanks Ronda,

I guess my striped female is no vanishing because she passed the 6 months long a ago.

Btw, do you know you have a Dutch name? Your name means 'From the shop' So, good day to you, Ronda from the Shop.

Thanks for the etymology lesson! I knew the name was Dutch, but didn't know what it meant.

Take care.
