my 03 speck king has a couple of spots where he/she is missing some scales. It first looked like it was unshed skin...so i didnt think it was too bad. He has shed about 2 times since the first time i noticed the probs(a good 2.5 to 3 months ago). Now there are a few scales missing in a couple of those spots... I have lightly rubbed the area and it doesnt look like its bothering him(no swelling or redness).
I dont think that i have a mite prob(cant see any,unless they are that small). Could it be the fact that I need to up the humidity in his cage? I never had a prob with him shedding, untill i changed the subtrate to aspen(was using newspaper). So is the aspen making it a lil dryer in his cage? His water bowl is deep enough to soak in...but i havnt seen him soak in a while.
This is my first snake so have no clue,but i am learning as he is growing. Any help would be appreciated.
