Grey Rat Fast

FloridaHogs Jul 31, 2006 10:29 PM

Any thoughts on a Grey Rat going on a 23 day fast? I know other species, such as hognose, do this on a regular basis, but wondered if this was common for a rat. It is about 3 ft long and 57 g, age is unknown. Ambient temp is 78 -80 on aspen. Hide available, but unused for the most part. Log to climb on and water dish also available. Tried hot spot for him, he did not use it. Prefered cool side. Any thoughts or tricks? He was eating f/t with no problem.
