An Apology

Keith Hillson Aug 01, 2006 01:10 AM

I would like to apologize to my fellow posters and Kingsnake.com for the exchanges that happened last week between me and a few others. I broke the TOS and engaged in personal attacks and for that Im truly sorry. I look forward to great conversation, exchange of info and lots of pics of everyones snakes...yes even the hand feeding ones

To keep it on topic here are 3 S. Georgia Eastern Kings all from the same clutch. These were produced by Will Still and show how within one clutch the many Flavors you can hatch out. I have 13 eggs cookin from my 2nd clutch that should hatch real soon so new pics will be forthcoming

Sweet! I love the top one with the lighter orange. Derek

Yeah he is a nice one. Another I sold off for some reason ??? lol He was probably the closest in looks to his Father. Speaking of his Pop here is a pic. This snake belongs to Will Still and is the best IMHO thats ever hatched from the Enge/Still line of S.GA Easterns. Im hopin I get a clone of this guy in my clutch or Will does in his...

apology accepted now did that particular king hatch out that black&white or was it orangish/red like others from that line?, thats one fine looking getula for sure. im just curious if like floridana&goini that the orange/red wash fades away as they age ,,,,,,,,,thomas davis

The male of Wills that I posted above is more of a straw yellow I think that pic makes it look white but its not. According to Will he wasnt a high color baby more average on color yellow with some pink/orange highlights.

Yes the orange fades. Some more than others and some keep a substantial amount of orange into adulthood. Here is my male as a weeks old hatchling and as an adult.

Great shot of the egg Keith! Do you take all of your pics indoors? I think I remember you stating some time ago that you create natural looking backgrounds for your shots. If so, you mind if I ask what settings you use?

Keith Hillson Aug 01, 2006 04:08 PM

I take 90% of my pics outside but lately Ive been taking them inside of the babies as they are so squirmy I dont want them getting loose. I do build "sets" using whatever I can find in the woods or my yard. I usually just put all my set pieces on a large piece of plywood thats sitting on a saw horse so its elevated to get those eye level shots.

I love those reds & oranges. And it's pretty cool that some of them retain an overall "Georgia Peach" color into adulthood! Can't get enough of them!!! I SURE HOPE you post pics of the other 13 when they hatch!

Dem' dare keengs sore ees sum' goood lookin' sanakes !

Hey Keith, E-mail me your address (just in case) so I can send you some compensation for feeding the little guy (so he can grow up to be BIG and STRONG!!!)

Not only do you take outstanding pics Keith, but you have outstainding animals to take pics of. And if I'm biased because I think eastern kings are the greatest serpent since sliced bread, consider me guilty, LOL
