last fall i cooled of my pair separately and early this year they were warmed together. both are 4 yrs old, male 7 feet and femaled clsoe to 9 and of good weight. mating was observed around february and march. separated in april so could be feed sparingly. this is my first mating so accurate mating or ovulation etc i am not sure i observed well.

what convinced me that mating had taken place is her behaviour. she did not look very interested in the food but eventually ate the rat. ( the male in the meantie was as famished as ever). she assumed the spiral position in the heated area ( heat conservationg position) and in june started staying on her side in the lenghtened position.

however since mid july she had begun again to assume normal positions and looks aggresively hungry. i didn't see again the preg related positions. i do not know if she is pregnant, if she was ever actually pregnanat and if i should start feeding her heavily for next season. any ideas?
