husbandry issue

Whenever I try to prevent him from walking on top of his droppings I fail.He makes his whole enclosure a mess and covering his belly and feet with droppings. After several years I found news paper to be the most practical of all substrates. The bad thing is that it cannot absorb the liquid wastes produced from my large male and after a couple of days the mess is obvious. The problem isn't so much the mess but my iguana's health.I cannot clean him because he is not tame enough to take a bath yet.
If you have anything in mind that can help any of the cases above, please tell me
Thanks

Can't help with taming, but what I do for the poop is have 2 sheets of plastic. I can just wrap it up and carry to the bathroom. Place the other in. If you're fussy you can clean more often as I do.

with ours my wife took him into the bathroom and bathed him daily, got him on a routine and then put a plastic tub with a small amount of water in it. He got used to going every morning in the tube and then started doing it in the plastic tub. So long as we dump it out shortly after he goes in the morning we never have any problem with it. (it also makes clean up real easy!)

You can also tape layers of paper towels onto your
newspaper. This is pretty absorbant.

Some people use puppy training pads.

That would be nice but the enclosure's base is 11x6 feet, too expensive, anyone tried anything else in big enclosures?

Many iguanas will go in water if made available. A large litter pan or an under bed storage tub may work with shallow water.

Sometimes my IG would crap in his water bowl. He does more and more frequently now. Especially, when he gets things started, he will just keep pooping in it until I clean the bowl, and then he stops for a while; then do it again and repeat it until I clean it. HA! LOL!!! Now I clean his water bowl everyday! LOL!!!

Clean often. I was severely scratched by a large Ig. Although the cage looked clean, when I went to the hospital for a immune Tetnus shot, I reacted like there was an active tetnus infection. I use mats now that are secured with velco that can be cleaned often. In your size cage I don't know the answer but please consider my experiance. Any animal covered with its own feces is a danger to its owner.
