Just curious if this sounds indicative of parasites or an infection to anyone. None of my other rat snakes stools are anything like my wc. She is a 4'7" black rat and eats 1 medium rat weekly. She doesn't go nearly as often as my other snakes (she goes maybe once every 1-2 weeks) and her stools have a vast excess of liquid. By this I mean 1/3 of her 106 qt. cage is covered in liquid. Also her stools smell about 10x stronger than my others. She is going in for a fecal anyway but was curious if this sounded odd to you guys as well.

That sounds about right to me - the stinky part. I've had a couple WC snakes, and they almost always stunk more than CB. The worst was a strapping-big WC male Eastern King. He ate - and voided - hugely - and whoa man! It was funky! But, he was healthy as a horse.

Maybe it has to do with the more varied diet - exposure to more micro-bugs could mean stinkyer poo. Not neccesarrily a bad thing - I think most WCs have a hign tolerance for hitchikers, and that not all bugs may be bad. However, some WCs carry feal nastys like crypto, which can wipeout whole collections. So I hope you have him in quarentine for now.

When you get the fecal, post the results!

I have had her for 3-4 months now. Still has horrid stools She has been a dream accept for those. And she has to have tiny water bowls otherwise she soaks constantly and gets a scale infection.

Stinky poo and scale infections!

Sounds high maintanence - almost like a girl friend!

I know what you mean about good personality though.

My road rescue black rat is a sweety - took her worm meds tonight with out so much as a hiss. Mind you, this while she's in the blue.
