Congrats! How exciting!

Congrats, Danny

It's great to see that your hard work and determination has finally paid off. It's sad to see that many other individuals and businesses over in your part of the world who would rather fake documents or pay officials off, than actually put in the time and effort to do things legitimately to gain the legal F2 status. Congrats to you!

great job. Could you possibly show pics of your adults and cages. Thanks

Danno Aug 04, 2006 03:32 AM

FR---I will get you those pics but give me some time as all my older pics are on my home computer which I no longer use so i will need to get new ones. I am having a ground up restoration done to my Jeep at this time so I am without wheels but I have asked my partner to shoot some pics next time he is up on the farm which is a 2 1/2 hours ride from town...

Anytime you like and and, so what are you doing to the Jeep. hahahahahahaha. I have a bunch of 4x4's no jeeps. I have a low key, fixed up toyota truck. I bought new in 79, first year they came out. I traded in a Land cruizer/350 chev, for it. The truck has a few goodies, possy from and back, traction bars, and such, small lift, different engine and tranny, etc. Cheers and good luck on your redo. How much fun is that?

Here is a picture of our outdoors breeding enclosures for our tree monitors, they are not perfect but work all the same. PVC pipe running along the top are for misting the enclosures during the dry season.

FR- I am doing a complete ground up restoration on my CJ7, I posted a picture 4U so I hope I don’t piss anybody off by posting a none reptile pic.. Many fabricated parts I am having custom made to make my Jeep a one of a kind here in Indo… Can’t wait to get it back and enjoy the thumping sound system and top off during the dry season…

FR Aug 06, 2006 12:04 PM

Both pics are great, you should have lots of fun in that Jeep, keep the greasy side down please.

And those cages look very serviceable, but not to much fun. I like to get in the cages with my monitors. Hmmmmmmmm. kinda like the jeep factor, keeps the juices flowing. hahahahahahahahaha

Keep us posted on your progress, you can come over to our forum, we allow jeeps, and non monitor neat stuff, along with monitors. But do post here too. Thanks for the great pics. Cheers

Thanks FR.... with the money I am spending on my Jeep I doubt I will be beating on it to much off road so greasy side should stay down.. Its bad enough driving around the roads here, no regards for safety or laws so its like the Indy 500 with thousands of speeda motors driving with there eyes closed

I will post some more pics once its completed and when some more of my prasinus eggs hatch..

Take care FR, good to hear from you....

Congratulation its been a long time sins your first hatched prasinus, I see this photo every day and think of you. If you ever need jeep parts let me know, maybe I can help?

My next trip is java for gonocephalus species, have you seen any in Bali?

I envy you so much for being out there!

Danno Aug 09, 2006 07:24 AM

Thanks man I appreciate the kind words!!! I basically got out of reptiles for the past two years and have recently gotten back into it again so hopefully I can continue to have success breeding tree monitors along with some others species. Now if we can get F2 permits for the Prasinus all will be OK, its very frustrating to do everything legally to see Prasinus being exported into the states and else where that are not legal IE Not Captive bred to F2 status which the Forestry Dept here require to issue permits or so they say.

gonocephalus species do not accur in Bali... happy hunting!! and look me up if your ever in Bali....

Hello
Congrats.......Please post pics of adults and their enclosure. We all need to learn from one another. What type of nest box did you use? How long did you incubate and what temps did you use? Did you use any type of rain/mist system to induce breeding or did it happen on its own? Thanks.....

give me some time to get pics of enclosures (see other post for reason)... as for nesting I have bamboo tubes sealed at both ends with a hole cut into the side and this is filled with leaf litter and they nest in there. Incubation temps were from 86.2 to 87.4 and they hatced after 128 days. Prasinus are house out doors year round in Bali, Indonesia and have acclimated to the seasons here. Some misting is done during the dry season but other then that its all done naturally...
