A question about these forums

lefty82 Aug 02, 2006 04:03 PM

I'm new to reptiles and to this forum, so I am finally going to ask because I can't figure it out...

In people's signatures, they say things like "0.2 normal leo geckos" or "1.0 blizzard leo gecko." What does that number mean? I know it doesn't mean you only have 1/5th of a normal leopard gecko. ha ha, but seriously, this is driving me nuts.

This gets asked so often that it ought to be on one of the FAQ sheets somewhere. But I don't know where.

The numbers refer to the number of individuals owned of a given sex. So 3.2.7 leopard geckos means the owner has three males, two females, and seven of unknown sex. Hope that helps.

So the males come first? Isn't that sexist?

Just kidding!!
