blue tongue feeding

WEEBEASTIES Aug 02, 2006 06:45 PM

I recently acquired 4 cb indo blueies and I've done some reading on what to feed them but how much and how often is a bit confusing. Most sites said feed every other day. Mine just don't seem to be eatting as much as I would expect. I am used to beardies who eat alot compaired to thier size. My guys are eating but how big of eatters are they? Any advice is appreciated.
FYI my set up has a 5.0 uvb plus a heat bulb, humid hide and several rock hides. Aspen shavings and a large water bowl.

First, are ou house them all together?!!!?? or is that just how each cage is set up?

What are your temps on the hot/basking end?
and I'm sure it's not too big of a deal, my eastern bts doesn't ever eat all that much. As long as they are at a healthy weight, not too fat, not too skinny, they are probably fine.
And if they don't seem interested in eating every other day, try every 2 days or something.

like autumn said, some are very picky... mine was when young. How old are they? Your setup sounds fine unless housed together.

the key to appetite is VARIETY!!!
try diff veggies. use cooked chicken, beef heart, ground turkey as their "meat" source. and be sure to mix it in very well with veggies cua skinks are notorious for picking thru for the fatty pieces... kind of like us humans.
