all I can say is "Wow. What a ferocious monster!"

Look at all that (what I am assuming) hemorrhage! I am guessing that it is from the venom causing hemorrhagic leak through the fang wounds.

My female pigmy (bought yesterday) struck a live hopper today. Let me tell ya: You have to respect even pigmy venom because this mouse dropped dead with in half a min--And not before it started to foam blood out of the mouth and nose. Let me tell ya, that is some very hot hemotoxin that pigmies have. I want no part of that venom to be inside of me. Everytime I feed live, I am graphically reminded of how careful I have to be. I must remember. I have to remember. I have to be vigilant. I can only imagine how hot gaboon venom must be!

Speaking of Gabs: I So easily could I have been lured into the nice look'n $45 baby gaboons. But good sense prevailed! Gaboons would have been wAAAYYYYY over my head! Sure, I could have learned as I went along as the gabby grows from baby to adult, but there is a reason I am sticking to pigmies and copperheads. The reason is: I don't have the facilities and the resources (ie anti-venom money) to sensibly keep a gabby.
I am sure I could have handled and cared for the baby gabbies no problem. But what about when that baby grows to 6 feet and 20 lbs??

So, for now, I am doing the smart thing, which is to leave the gabbies be. And that does not stop me from admiring other people's gabbies!

Great Pic. Great Fang Shot!

cheers. Happy Hottings!
