Updated photos of golddust mots.

blichtenhan Aug 02, 2006 10:10 PM

They have all shed, actually a few weeks ago, but it takes me a while to find enough time to get on Kingsnake and get the photos uploaded and posted. I am 100% confident now that these babies are indeed golddust mots. Initially, when they hatched, they were just so dark, I was asking myself what was going on? But after the first shed, they are much lighter, and I anticipate they will lighten up with each shed. Almost all the babies have taken right off on f/t pinks, so that is nice. I hope you like the pics, BL

Well, that first photo in that first post was not the right one, obviously. The first picture in this group is a pic of my '05 golddust motley female. The second pic is of one of this years babies after its first shed, (you can see it still has a way to go as far as coloring up). And the final pic is one of the golddust motleys owned by Joe Pierce. He sent it to me for comparison purposes and said that I could use it. Thanks Joe.
I have some babies with perfect motley patterns, some that are really dark that I think are going to be outstanding adults (or maybe the light ones will be better, who knows?). And I also have some that are very striped/motley patterned. If you want to see a pic of any of these, let me know and I will post it as soon as I can. Thanks, BL

Of the "newer" morphs golddust and more specifically golddust motleys are definitely on my need to have list.
I really beleive the darker babies will turn out to be the better adults.
It's kind of like butters.
It seems the deeper toned butter hatchlings turn out to be the better adults.
And even okeetees.
The okeetee hatchlings with almost solid black saddles will usually turn out to be the most contrasting and beautifully colored adults.
please keep us updated on these spectacular snakes.
And if you are going to sell those drop me an e-mail please.

just thought I would add....
the above is just my general opinion and can obviously vary with each individual snake.

Jimmy, great points. It is certainly my hunch that those dark ones are going to look really nice. This male corn pictured was sure a dark baby, and I think he turned out nice. As for these babies, they are ready to go as soon as you tell me to ship! Thanks, Brad

Your Golddust are awesome and so are your Okeetees!!! Where did your Okeetees originate or did you line breed two or more strains???? Inquiring minds seek to know!!!

Hi Pastor Pat, you have seen them before of course. That male that is pictured I have had for 5 years and got him as a 2 yr old. I think he came from Howie Sherman. Since then, I have added some from Tom Chiang, and now I have some for next year from Don Soderberg, the really nice Abbotts he picked out for me, and some from Douglas Kranich that are super nice. But this look is exactly what I am breeding for, here are a few other pics. One is from Don, one is from Douglas, and one is one of my own babies, all 05's.
