Honduran Laying eggs NOW!!! Problem?....

Daniel Klopson Aug 02, 2006 11:31 PM

Hello, our Hypo Honduran female is dropping her eggs right now! Shes five years old and its her first. Shes laid two eggs so far and it looks like she has one more left. The first two came about two hours ago.... how long before I should start to worry about this last egg? Is three normal for a first clutch? How long before I should start to massage the egg out? Or should I try somthing else? Thanks for your time! We're STOKED!!!!!

the best advice i can give you is to leave her alone...

if it's not out in 3 days then start to worry

I agree, best thing to do is leave her alone. I think snakes get eggbound because of disturbances. I know it's hard not to, but if you don't want any problems, you will stay away. I am speaking from experience. My female was eggbound after this clutch. Mine was eggbound for at least 10 days. I got the egg out, but you don't want to deal with it. You said there was only 2 eggs so far? There might be more. Keep us posted. Derek

Thanks for the info... I can tell she has at least one more still inside, maybe two. I didnt realize they could be egg bound so long and not get sick from it.... I hope that dosent happen! Dan

Take your time!
You dont want to stress the snake or cause any un-needed harm to your snake. My black milk squeezed out one egg, and three days later dropped another twelve. Give her time and space and she will probably be fine!

Congrats on the eggs:
