I have new collareds. My incredibly awesome vet surprised me a couple of days ago with 2 yearling females. They are local to the area near where I live. Eve will love them, they have a lot of yellow. They are darling, one is quite tiny. And they are wild and terrified of me! I have not really tried to handle them yet. They are still getting used to me just walking by. So not only was I given these stunning little girls, but my vet got to see my set up, and it made me feel better to be told everything is fine with it.
I also took in another girl, she is thin and looks like she may have had a clutch recently. But she is active and eating on her own and I have every hope she will recover. She was lucky and got a quick home check-up when the vet was here to bring the other 2. He thinks that she came from southern New Mexico or West Texas. She has a beautiful little golden face with black spots. I'll probably try and find a home for her once she is fattened up, since I now have the opportunity to try and breed collareds from around here.
Nobody has a name yet. I'm sure they will come to me soon. And my camera had to be sent off for repairs but it is due back soon. I'm not sure anyone will be sitting for photos soon, anyway; they are all still dashing under the rocks when they see me.
