is the zoo med cage carpet a good product for a 2-3 month old leo?

I use cage carpet for my hatchling - 2 month old leopards. I think it works great! You just have to make sure that there are no loose strings anywhere. Zoo Med makes great products, so you shouldn't have any problems. Hope that helps!
