Stopping egg laying

jennyandrudy Aug 03, 2006 03:26 PM

I read in one of the care sheets that a female who is losing weight during the breeding season should be taken out of production. How do I take a female out of production? By cooling her early? I've been feeding extra pinks to put on some weight, but it would be nice if I could get her to stop laying.

remove her completely from all males. If she cant see them, smell them, come into contact with them, then she will stop producing the hormones that cause her to produce eggs.

If she is laying eggs due to seasonal changes and not breeding then youll just have to wait for her body to stop producing on its own. Until then just heep her hot spot at 90*F and feed her often.
