Keeper Striped Applegate San Diego Gophe

Nokturnel Tom Aug 03, 2006 04:49 PM

OK,this gal is staying with us! The group of San Diegos I have here are on loan from Jason Nelson of Envy. Years back he bred a Striped Dyer to an Applegate and made triple hets. When those were mature they bred and created a Striped Applegate, took him many impatient years of waiting to see that guy who is here with me now and over 30 inches long already. This year I got lucky and produced 4 of them. This one has the longest stripe out of the 5 that came from Jasons stock. We hope to see the striping improve and expand. The patternless sides and awesome color realy looks phenomenal on the yearling. These are incredible. I will post recent pics of the 05 asap. Tom Stevens

That is one amazing looking snake. Actually you've got alot of nice looking snakes. Are you going to have a table at Daytona? kevin

Thanks, I will be at Daytona but will not have a table. I think I will be in the Expo on set up day [friday] and will be staying at the Hilton til Sunday. I like staying there best.....good food and so convinient with the Ocean Center being across the street. Are you going? You have a table? Never enough Pits at that show, but sure is a lot of fun. Yes, I will be going. No, no table. I have not bred anything yet but hopefully next year I will have some baby San Diego Gophers of various morphs along with some Eastern hogs and possibly some Brooks if all goes well. It is hard to walk by a table full of Pits without stopping. Last year we drove back to Daytona from just North of Tampa to purchase the three SAn Diego Gophers. This year were just gonna stay Friday and Saturday night. I think it was on your website where you talked about just purchasing a few QUALITY animals each year. kevin

Yeah, I personally would rather have a few flawless animals as opposed to the buy buy buy cause it is cheap mentality a show like Daytona can cause. Not too mention it is no fun too quarantine a ton of snakes at once. In 2003 a had a few snakes in a few other rooms of my house other than the snake room. My wife was not happy. We will be hanging in the Hilton bars and wandering around looking for people we know. Maybe I will see you there. Tom Stevens

They sure are, glad we are keeping one back. I think these rival the knockout patternless Bulls. Lots of great Pits will be coming out this year in the way of new morphs. Tom Stevens
