i just caught my garter a few days ago and its really fat im thinking is gravid but not to sure and i was wondering if you could help me out?

It's either gravid or really really fat. And unless your backyard has an abundence of earthworms and fish, wc's don't usually get that fat.

At that size your snake's gonna pop in next week or so.
