Moving into a bigger enclosure

ronfinney Aug 03, 2003 03:37 PM

Is it alright to move my 2-2.5 month old veiled that is about 5.5 inches total lenth into it's new 3'wx2'dx5'h enclosure or should I wait a little longer. I will be hand and cup feeding so he will not have to hunt in the cage. Do you think he will be too overwhemled? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi-

I got a female Nosy Be that was 3 months old, I put her right in to a 2'x2'x4' cage with lots of vines and plants. She did fine in the cage, hand feeds, cup feeds, free roam feeds. She is the most friendly female panther I have the others are VERY shy and VERY aggressive. They were bought from a breeder at an older age or were WC. She never hisses/gapes/bites. Veileds grow fast so I don't see a problem as long as she can find and catch food. Hope this helps!

Also, if you notice your chameleon not drinking or eating, this is just a sign of stress and will need to get used to its new enviromeant. Just give it a week or so. Some chameleons may do this and some don't, but if your chameleon doesn't eat and drinks, put some stuff in the water that has electrolytes in it.
