Humidity

chico32826 Aug 04, 2006 06:56 AM

hello,
What should the humidity be in a corn snake set up? I've got aspen for a substrate ( and a hide of corase and branches) does he need a bowl of water for soaking? and should the cage be misted daily? I've got a ball python, but he's on astroturf and he's misted daily and has a bath bowl so I was wondering if their set ups are similar. thanks for the help. Brad

Humidity is not overly critical to corn snakes. They require less humidity than ball pythons. Though they come from the southeast United States (which can be very humid), 40-60% humidity is an acceptable range for corns. Corn snakes need a water dish for drinking, but do not need to be misted, unless the animal is kept in an environment with a humidity level of under 40%. Most people use water dishes that are of a size that the snake can curl up in if it chooses to do so.
