Triple Het Question

shedthegear Aug 04, 2006 09:07 AM

To get a triple het you must breed a Ghost x Albino.

Does the Ghost have to be a Super? or will a Co-dom Ghost still produce Triples? What else is produced by a Co-dom Ghost x Albino other then Triples? 100% Dbl Het Snow? 100% Dbl Het Sunglow?

Thanks.

I bred my Albino het snow male to a Hypo het ghost female.
Here is what I got:
2-Ghost 100% het albino
6-Hypo 100% het albino 66% het anery
3-Anery 100% het albino
5-Normal 100%het albino 66% het anery

There are many combinations you could use. They just need 3traites...

To get a triple het, you must breed two individuals that have three different mutant genes between them. Make a list of all the known mutant genes and pick out three. A ghost x albino mating is only one of the many possibilities. A heterozygous albino, heterozygous anerythristic (AKA het snow) x arabesque mating could produce triple hets, too.

No.

or will a Co-dom Ghost still produce Triples?

Yes, but not all would be triples.

What else is produced by a Co-dom Ghost x Albino other then Triples? 100% Dbl Het Snow? 100% Dbl Het Sunglow?

Results of this mating:
1/2 salmon, heterozygous albino, heterozygous anerythristic (not sure what others would call this. Possibly hypo, double het snow.) triple heterozygous)
1/2 heterozygous albino, heterozygous anerythristic (AKA double het snow)

There would be no double het sunglows because all the babies must be heterozygous anerythristic, too.
