what type of sand boas are these?

wisema2297 Aug 04, 2006 09:56 AM

These were placed with me by the County when they confiscated them from an unfit home with bite scars on the darker one. They will both have a sand substrate soon but seem to be doing well on the aspen for now. Both have eaten and one has shed as well. Thanks

Those are Kenyan or East African sand boas. There is a ton of information on the web for keeping them. They're pretty simple and tolerent.

Hello--
As long as the aspen substrate is deep enough for them to burrow in and feel secure, don't worry about replacing it with sand. I've kept mine on aspen for years without a problem.
