Height of Cage Question

Joeseph311 Aug 04, 2006 11:34 AM

Ok I recently got a female red blood python thats about 26" long, I currently have her in a Rubbermaid container and I was planning on purchaseing her a new cage in the next couple of months and was told that height wasnt near as important as floor space my question is whats the minimum height on the cage? Some of the cages ive been looking at are only as tall as 12".

bloods are non arboreal so height of tank isnt as important as width/length since bloods are thick bodied snakes.

4'x2'x12" will work fine, I think some cages are even 11 1/2" tall.

Thanks, I knew that height was not near as important as floor space but I wasnt sure if 12inches would be enough. Thanks for the information though.
