we had a whole mess of firebelly toad eggs in the tank where i work one day and i decided to raise them rather than letting them get eaten like the last time this happened...
so ive been watching them intently and i noticed one little tadpole is a beige color while the rest are a dark gray... ive only found one picture online of a leucistic and im not sure how often this happens or if there is something else that might explain his lack of pigment... at any rate, i brought him home and plan on raising him separate from the rest to ensure his survival...
has anyone else seen these or know how common it is? is there another explanation for his lack of color? ive thoroughly checked the rest of the tadpoles and he is the only one that looks like that...
