craigslist rescue

So I was browsing around craigslist last night and came across an ad for this little girlie, tank and all, for $45. I've been wanting a red-tail for quite a while, and this was just the opportunity I needed! She's 'nothing special' and just looks like every other petstore quality boa I've ever seen, but she's still a cutie, and she's wonderfully alert in hand. She's in shed right now and the picture quality isn't great, but I'm still super excited, because not only did I finally get a boa, but I saved her from a long, painful death by neglect...

That's awesome. I remember when my girls were that little. Plus it is nice that she is nice.

I wouldn't handle her too much while she's in a shed cycle, but it is hard to not do with new ones.

I handled her enough to take her from the bitty little 10g tank that she came with into a 40 quart rubbermaid, and to take the pictures.

I'm going to give her a few days to get used to life in a bigger tank, and then she'll get a nice soak, and after she's shed, she's got a few frozen rat pinkies waiting patiently in the freezer for her.

I'm super excited, but I've got other snakes that I can handle in the meantime...

There are so many animals (Dogs, Cats, Horses, Avians and Reptiles) out there that need a great home. It is Awesome to see someone give an animal a new lease on life with a new home and a new beginning. Congrats on the new animals and thanks for saving a wonderful beautiful life.

Sincerely,
Rose Aguilar
