SPLENDIDA QUESTION

today two splendida's hatched out with 100% black bellies,this has not appeared with previous hatchlings.does this indicate any certain gentic trait? thanks in advance.have fun! TWH

I actually almost bought one back in the early nineties that had that. I don't think it is a certain genetic trait though. My friend who produced my splendida shown has always produced both black bellied and checkered bellied splendida babies.

I have wild caught splendida from Black Gap, Marathon, Alpine and Langtry Texas and they all have solid black bellies. I thought all splendida had this trait. All the babies I've produced have blackbellies as well.
