Sunsets are super hypo hogs..
you need hypo & hog on both sides to make a sunset...
so hypo/hog X hypo/hog..

here is one I made in 2005....

just wanted to make sure. mine are gonna be interesting im gonna cross my male hog with a female possible super hypo harlequin so if i am lucky i will get super hypo harlequin sunsets after offspring breed back together. still lokkin for a cheap clean healthy female hogg tho

that could be interesting...
just one note.. it has not been proven that all hypo/hog breedings will produce sunsets... the quality of the initial stock is important..

"it has not been proven that all hypo/hog breedings will produce sunsets..."

Didnt you just define sunsets as super hypo hogs?

How could not all hypo/hog breedings produce homozygous hypos with a perecntage of hog island blood?

This whole notion of "not all hog/hypos produce sunsets" doesnt make any sense...

If there are phenotype parameters that make a sunset, someone needs to define them. The sketchyness of it makes me personally a bit uneasy about the whole "sunset" label in itself. If breeders stuck to a clear cut definition (such as homozygous hypo w/some percentage of hog island blood) it would be so much more legit and readily accepted IMO.

PS - Thats a KILLER animal you produced there. One of the coolest boas I've seen without a doubt.

there needs to be a genetic definetion made for the Sunset boa. I think that as to know it has been defined as a Super Hypo x Hogg. I know that DM Reptile was the first to produce it and was the one to name the gene combination. I hope that there is some future light brought to this subject but until know I will just state that you have got one gorgeous looking animal up there and it doesnt matter what you call it!

Thanks for sharing!
