Question about feeder insects

wspatterson Aug 04, 2006 09:04 PM

Okay, maybe this is a silly question, but are any feeder insects actually potentially dangerous to handle with bare hands? Someone at a Petco told me some tale about being bitten by a superworm hard enough to draw blood. Or are the feeder insects you're most likely to feed a leopard gecko harmless?
Thanks!

Most insects commonly sold as feeders are completely harmless to people. I know some places are starting to offer some different kinds of roaches, I have no clue about them.

But crickets, waxworms, and moths that are commonly sold for lizard food are all harmless.

watch out for those surinam biting bugs!

j/k,

all I have to offer is that roaches wont' bite. Actually, they are my favorite feeder, are easy to breed, nutritious, and dumb like rocks
