Hey all. I just got back from the Sacramento Reptile Sale and Show. It was neat, and just as impressive as last years. I now see why whoever it was that didn't like LLL didn't like LLL (is that confusing?). I didn't go to buy anything, but the son of a family friend decided to buy a baby bearded dragon, and LLL suggested that he use the calci-sand or fine sand as a substrate and told him it was rare to see impaction. I can't say that is true, if they read anything about the habits of Beardies, they would know that they are prone to taste their environment. My beardie CheChe licks his rock whenever I put him back, or he licks my hand or the substrate, etc. I had to tell the friend's son what to get and why not to go with the sand. So I am now a little disappointed with LLL that they would suggest that. Unfortunately, the son bought an animal I think is too small, but he had done it when I wasn't with him, so I had to help him get the best knowledge on the animal from my experiences and such.
Anywho, it was a lot of fun and I felt like the big brother helping him out with it
...its like the little lizard is my nephew now

Also, wanted to say Alwen is doing great, she still has a lot of growing to do, but she is eating well (been keeping track of the mealies in her cage). Melly is doing well too, and I sort of wish I had a male to go with her since she is nice and fat for egg carrying. CheChe is doing well, and he/she has one more vet appointment coming up. Hopefully he/she will be clear of the round worms. I have noticed about an inch of growth since the first dose of medicine, which is an excellent sign
.
Hope I didn't forget anything...oh I'm probably going to the San Mateo show in September, not sure yet, but I was planning on going with my mother as a sort of bonding thing, since strangely enough, she is into reptiles like me. The one thing we can connect about is reptiles, so that is a good thing for our relationship. She keeps calling Alwen, Pastel, because that is the phase she looks to be so far. She is so pretty. I looked at the Leo's at the Sac show, and Alwen just puts those ones to shame, she is too gorgeous.
Okay, enough of my rambling
.
Talk to you all again soon

I'm obsessed with
's aren't I?
