rubbermaid/sterilite housing

begunwithaletter Aug 04, 2006 10:33 PM

So the new rescue that I picked up today is being housed in a 40quart sterilite, it's got a nice big footprint but is low profile. I've got two hides and a soak-sized water dish in there, and aspen bedding. I'm concerned about how many ventilation holes to drill, and where to drill them.

I don't want to overdo it and make it harder to control the humidity, but I don't want to underdo it either.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

My 22x16 boxes have 72 holes in them that I put in with a solder iron. That is 26 on each side and 10 at the front and back. That is a lot of holes but I have no problem with humidity. I only mist the cage the day that their eyes clear up right before they shed. I have clay saucers for hides so I just spray them really good or even pour a little water on them. The saucers soak up the water and release it slowly into the air.

I'm going to soak her for a bit while I get those drilled...
