Really loud at night

nyy84 Aug 05, 2006 09:23 AM

I have 2 FBTs, one male and one presumably female. I say that because one keeps mounting the other and barking.

At night time, generally the early morning, the toad makes such a loud barking noise that it is impossible to sleep and makes me want to throw him across the room. I won't, but I'm wondering what is causing this and what I can do to fix it.

Thanks

I've never had an FBT bark so loud you could hear it more than a couple of feet from the tank.

Where is the tank in location to your bed? Is moving it to another room a possibility?

Expect to see some eggs in the water. If you have plant or moss in the water the eggs will be attached to these. My fire belly toads got VERY load and VERY annoying around the end of May. My husband kept complaining about how loud they were. It wasn't long after that I discovered eggs in the tank. I now have toadlets.

The barking is a mating call. Good luck...
