size of tank

I have a hexagon tank, about 40 gallons, 3 feet tall, 2 feet wide. Is that a good size for a bearded dragon?

no not really. i doubt the UVB light can be within 12-18 inches of the dragon, and i doubt the basking light can get close enough either. 4x2x2 for an adult dragon is the recommended size. you can use a 10-20 gallon for babies for a little while, but they will outgrow it
