One Special Albino!

BASICALLYBOAS Aug 05, 2006 11:33 AM

Ok, here is one special baby! This guy here is a 25% Guyanan Sharp Strain Albino from a litter we had a few weeks ago. He has only 25% Guyanan blood in him and has only shed 1 time so far. He should be even more outrageous with a few more sheds.

Let me know what you think.

Seriously.

I am constantly blown away by how far we've come through selective breeding.

Great job with that one, simply stunning.

. . . I'll have to wait ha ha. That one of yours is incredible. So much color, and only to get better for sure. I'll post my two on another day, for they would be highly over-shadowed by your masterpeice.
Well then here's another nice creation from the Boaman76-

Take care, David

a Sharp Strain coral sunglow? LOL JK That is such a mindblowing albino!!!! The BCC blood really put the color and contrast into that one... Can I see pics of the parents???
VERY NICE
Jake

Nothing beats a nice red contrast albino!!! 8)

BASICALLYBOAS Aug 05, 2006 05:11 PM

.....the father of the litter with the sister of the female that birthed. This pair pictured here also has a litter due in a couple of weeks. I think that this pairing should produce as nice if not nicer Sharp Albinos!

What beautiful parents! Those definitly didn't pop up out of some freak accident. Congrats on producing such beautiful sharp albinos 8) Will there be any for sale soon?
Jake

basicallyboas Aug 05, 2006 05:42 PM

...what we are going to part with from the Guyanan stock, but we should have some regular Sharp Albinos available soon from a couple litters already born and a couple yet to come.

a boa?

kirby Aug 05, 2006 09:40 PM

awesome. Are sunglows in the works?
Bill

ChrisGilbert Aug 05, 2006 10:43 PM

I say leave the sunglow version out of it. This ROCKS! Honestly I think selectively bred Albinos are much more valuable than sunglows.

kirby Aug 06, 2006 10:20 AM

I understand your point. However we don't know what the sunglows will look like in these albino crosses and it is at least worth a litter or two to see how they look.

BASICALLYBOAS Aug 06, 2006 12:00 AM

...I hope to have 50% crosses next season. I could have bred my female this season, but chose to grow her up nice and slow. She is now pushing 7' and around 20lbs so I will give her a shot next season. Sunglows will also be in the near future as I have a few DH girls coming up too. I have really slowed down on raising my boas and am geared towards my females being bred at 3.5 years old or older now. One breeding I am looking forward to is breeding the male pictured above to this Striped Guyanan female below. This should make some very nice 62.5% crosses that are 100% Het Sharp Strain with maybe a nice Stripe gene thrown in too! The picture of her is a bit old, as she is now a nice 5 year old adult.

There are lots of fun things to be done with the Sharp Strain gene still!

....male from the litter. He is not as nice as the first, but still definitely no slouch!

Thanks,

long term projects like this work out. As you know I am a big fan of crosses and these are outstanding. It takes the vision, time and a lot of dedication to get a litter like this. Now you have the building blocks for a whole group of projects. I look forward to seeing what you come up with and I think this is a project I will certainly look into for my own breeding projects.
Congratulations again.
Bill

ChrisGilbert Aug 05, 2006 10:40 PM

those were the exact words out of my mouth. That is hands down the BEST albino boa, EVER!

I am SO happy I just got my Sharp now. That is something to look forward to.

Sooo... Any 50% plans?

midnightherps Aug 06, 2006 12:59 AM

Who needs sunglows when you can produce those babys.

LindaH Aug 06, 2006 02:28 AM
