feeder fish??

smith710 Aug 05, 2006 06:18 PM

Just wondering... I have 2 adult bearded dragons, and I was just wondering if they could eat feeder fish... I usually have feeder fish for other animals that I have and I never even thought about feeding them to my bearded cdragons. Can they eat feeder fish??? I haven't tried it yet because I would like to know if there was something wrong with it first but I know they would eat it because they will grab anything that moves....

Thanks

welll have you eaten fish if you have you know those pines cand hurt you if you eat them same deal with your dragons iy could choke them to death and also the scales woud hurt their throats if they eat it wrong.

i personally don't know either. Other things eat feeder fish like my savannah and it doesn't hurt him at all he loves them. So i don't know if its any good for them but i dont see how it could hurt them at all. Feeder fish are small.

Don't feed feeder fish to bearded dragons. It isn't their natural food at all. Also, feeder fish tend to be 'dirty', that is, full of parasites and worms which can cause problems for your dragons and even for other animals that naturally eat fish. I have heard of people who had fish eating snakes (red sided garter snakes to be exact) die from huge worms in their bodies that originally came from feeder fish (I beleive it was a lung or heart worm that just grew so big the snake couldn't live with it anymore).

It is best to stick with insects and greens for dragons.
