I cannot get over how chunky he is! He is just a monster! His neck pattern is neat also. I hope he gives you years of enjoyment Matt! Take care!

Neat looking animal! Is that ground color atypical? Unusually stout, too!

It is from this line. This is the first year that I have bred my red het albino northern male to the red albino northern female. In the past I bred a normal with pink blushing to the albino red and the babies looked very similar (though not nearly as chunky!) It looks to me like this year I only got one red normal out of the breeding. There were 4 normal appearing babies out of 10 eggs. The three looked just like Matts animal and then the one is just different. I am going to keep her back so that I can reliably watch her development and know what to expect next year as far as what should turn red. Interestingly all 3 of the normal males were chunky monsters like Matts! The red in the pines seems to behave genetically much the same as in the bulls, though possibly even a little less reliably. This is a pic of the father to Matts chunk. Take care!

I had him out tonight and I do some some pink blush on his sides, which could change quickly I'm sure. He is not near as testy as I thought he would be.

Wow -- BEAUTIFUL animal, Jeremy. I got a pair of NJ "peach" northerns from John Cherry...can't wait to see what happens with their coloration!
