That is so nice it makes me want to get one. Love the Amels too. Very under rated Kings. Nice pics too! Tom Stevens

Thanks Tom for the compliment. Yes, the albino prairies are very nice. I think some people also work with striped prairie kings as well. I know you've had a good season this year with those white-sided speckled kings and those gorgeous SD gophers. I'll have to venture over on the Pit board and see what else you've been cooking.

Nice little female. Where'd you pick her up at? I have a clutch of 7 cooking right now from an Unknown locality albino bred to a Definite het Brazoria county female. I hoped to have them on the table @ the Austin show this year but they won't be hatching till that weekend. I also have a caramel albino looking male het stripe of unknown locality I will be breeding into the het Brazoria strain next season. And a striped female het unknown locality albino (related to caramel albino het stripe) who will be breeding in 08'. Caligasters are majorly underated. They are easy to get feeding, easy to tame down (most come out of the egg tame), and you don't have the attitude like you do with subspecies of getula.
I picked up my 05 female from Exotic Pets out of Las Vegas. Funny thing is, trying to find a Captive bred normal Prairie king for sale on the classifieds is not a very common thing. I don't think alot of people work with them, atleast not in any great numbers.

I produced 9 normals last season. The normals aren't given enough credit either. I wonder where ExtoicPets got theirs.
Steve those are nice. It would be nice if they retain those nice smooth colors.

I'm not sure what the locality of my Prairie king is, but she seems to be holding her contrast & pattern well. I know some of the more eastern calligaster, like in Kentucky, have much less contrast then their western counterparts. She's approx. 18 inchs in length.
Steve
Her colors are typical of specimens I see in and around southern oklahoma into north and central texas. There are locality differences in the range but it's typically in the band colors but that light grey is common thru out that range.
