I use cypress mulch and it works very well for all my snakes that require higher ammounts of humidity.

rodentpro.com I hear is a very reliable supplier of F/T etc. They have a wide selection of sizes.

As far as a substrate that holds humidity well, I suggest paper towels folded several layers thick for young chondros in tubs. When they are about 2 years of age, I have been moving mine into adult enclosures and using the cypress mulch found here:

Of course you can find it cheaper and in larger quantities in the garden section of Lowes and Home Depot but I think you run a greater risk of finding pests living in it. I am too lazy to go through the hassle of sterilizing it.

I have purchased frozen rodents through The Mouse Factory and have been very impressed with the quality of the product. I know many people who have used them say they are a bit more expensive than Rodentpro but worth the extra money when you compare the quality of the feeders and packaging. Here is a link to their site: http://www.themousefactory.com

I am now finding that it you have several snakes, it is cost effective to breed your own mice if you have the room.

I just bought about 100 frozen rats. I got them from Rodent Pro. They seem to have the best prices.
