Fan Set-up for ETB's

vegasbilly Aug 06, 2006 05:03 PM

Hey all,

I was only getting app. 55% humidity readings w/just a fogger and also had very poor air circulation! I mounted a computer fan just above the water line (Vision cage) and have the fogger/fan on a 6 hour cycle during the day so things can "dry out". Humidity reached 90% in the higher regions of the cage (where the snakes are!) in 20 minutes and their activity is off the hook! The screen front is homemade.

I thought this could help others who persist in keeping humidity-loving herps in the arid desert!

Hey Bill,
Nice set up...why didn't you mount the fan on the outside of the cage though? Also, I believe it's ESU that sells a great power strip with a built in timer that has alternating outlets. So say when the timer switches the fogger off, the fan will automatically kick on and vice versa...good product.

It's generally used by reef tank enthusiasts to simulate tides and waves but in a situation like your setup it's ideal.

Good luck.
