First was found in 2005 outside the Francis Marion National Forest in SC. It was the first time I'd seen an eastern hognose in the wild. It put on quite a display, including playing dead and smelling god awful! The second was found in the Osceola National Forest in FL in 2006. This was a BIG girl who was more than patient enough to allow us to take multiple pictures before letting her go on her way.
