What is in a little love bite! Nothing but love baby. It's all good. They can be a bit nippy at that size and age. Have had that happen plenty. They do calm with time and handling.

Like a borneo? I don't mind being bit, to me it's nuttin.
Red bloods color up with each shed as they mature. It looks like a baby red to me...They are more brownish/brick. If you want more info on them, take some time and read through the info on VPI's website
www.vpi.com
You can see in the below pic of my Borneo that he is more of a yellowish brown. He just went into shed last night,I can't wait to see how his color will change!

Thanks! He's a borneo. He's pretty yellow (I don't really see green) Maybe it's just my camera. his yellow parts are getting more saturated every time he sheds...I can't wait to see what he looks like in a couple of days.

Another pic. When I got him/her on sat. I was continusoly bitten when I would go in to the bloods cage, in 4 days I can now pick him up out of his enclousure and might get bit only once or not at all, now it's mainly huffing and puffing, i'm really liking his overall attitude

Give the little guy a break!!
As hard as it is to keep your hands off such a cute little one, ya really should let him get adjusted to his new home. I'd really try to keep handling him to a minimum, until You know for sure he's consistently feeding. Your going to be together a long time... you'll have plenty of time to hang together.
Handing tips I was given when I got my guy which were very helpul:
Tap him gently on the head before picking him up( w/ pencil or tongs)so he's not surprised.
Make sure to support the body,(don't dangle him). use two hands even when he's small.
Don't restrict his head, and make sure it's pointing away from your face.
Handle him for only brief ammounts of time at first, and if he starts getting really antsy, put him back.Trust takes a while to build.
Most importantly Enjoy! they're awesome!
