That is SO cool! Breeding is on an entire different level from what I do as an average everyday pet owner, so I doubt I'll ever get to experience that firsthand. It would be so neat to see one of them hatch! Congratulations!

Cool Lindsay

I do not know anyone else in the U.S that has successfully incubated U. d. flavifasciata - congrats!

That is wonderful news! What a beautiful baby.

of anyone successfully hatching these guys. They seem to get eggs but usually lose them during incubation. You are the "Uro Master"! Again great job! (does this get me a discount on my next purchase?) LOL. Good luck in Daytona. Tom

Congrats on finally getting some to hatch! Seems like we've been working on these forever! Well I'm running a few days behind you but it looks like I'm going to finally get one out of the egg as well. I had all but given up on my lone clutch of banded eggs this year and was literally going to throw this one out today. But low and behold the little dude finally decided to come out. This last egg (the rest went bad within the first 2 weeks) has been badly shriveled and blackish for the last 3 weeks to the point I was convinced it was toast. Being too lazy to throw it away, I just left it in the incubator. I'm running 3 degrees cooler than normal this year as I've had to use the same incubator to hatch tortoises this year and 92 would be fatal to them. Thus my Uro hatch times are notably longer than usual.

I still know of one more good clutch of pure Banded eggs being incubated this year so we may yet add one more person to the rare "Hatched Bandeds" club!

On a somewhat related note, I saw a group of Banded Mali's being bred that I'm hoping to get some of to see if these might be naturally occurring Male x Banded hybrids. This same individual also has some Malis that sure look like natural Mali x Moroccan hybrids as well. These are all individuals that came in back in the 90's. I've seen some of these come in in the past but didn't have a key at the time to try to key them out to verify my suspicions.
