I just have a quick question for anyone who has made there own cage. I want to make a fake wall in the back of the cage and i was wondering what would be the best way to go about this. i see that Exo-terra has a foam one in there cage. what kind of foam is that?

I don't know about the particular foam I imagine it is a form of expanded polysterene but don't know for sure.

Is your concern for rock detail or for light weight? What is the rock wall for particular species or a general cage theme?

Each answer has its own particular type of rock wall and the best way to make said wall.

The varieties go from carved expanded polysterene pieces to mesh and concrete each has its advantages and disadvantages.

Let us know, size can also be a factor.

Well weight is not really an issure. I was going for a general cage theme, something to add a little more to the cage then just a flat back wall. I have seen such things in vivs that have real plants growing on the walls and stuff like that. I guess i'm just looking to dress it up a little.

If you like the vivarium look with real plants and stuff I suggest the expanded foam and coco bedding like this viv set up at Black Jungle

If you like the rock wall concept there are two main ways like I said the foam and tile grout, or mesh and concrete. I havn't done either so I have no input as to what is better. Here are some links to help.
