Sanitizing driftwood?

cazzy Aug 07, 2006 05:52 PM

I found some really nice driftwood at the beach that would work very well as a climbing branch in my snake enclosure. What should I do to sanitize the wood? Or is it a bad idea to use it...? Any feedback would be great

Set your oven to 200 and cook it for an hour or so.

If it doesn't fit in the oven, you could spray it with a bleach solution put it a garbage bag and let it sit in the sun and bake. Just be sure to rinse it really good before putting in the cage.

Remember we just want to kill the parisites it may harbor not steralize it.

Good Luck
