evercraig190 Aug 07, 2006 11:13 PM

hi all, i have posted here before and everyone was very helpful while im building my cage...i have built this cage (see pic below) and it has three seperate sections...everything has gone according to plans and the only thing i really have left are the doors...ie: sliding doors or hindged doors...i really want to go with sliding doors but finding glass tracks is very difficult...i am thinking of building some wooden glass tracks because i cant find any pre-made tracks anywhere else...any suggestions would be great..and btw the picture is quite old, i have the floors in (which i used plastic sheeting) and the back wall is being mounted tomorrow..so all i have left is the front doors...thanks again...i really appreciate it ...

For the plastic tracks I would first try, Outwater plastics sorry I don't have the link.

I myself get them from a local glass supplier, they in which have to special order them but unless you are in a hurry 5-6 business days is pretty good turn around.

I always try the yellow book than a good google search to find anything, usually if I can't find it it can't be found.

Good Luck

Outwater

I think the minimum order is 12' (that's 12' of both upper and lower).

Post pictures of the completed project.

I get my glass tracks from home depot. They are in the Hardware Aisle. They come in 6 foot sections, pre-packed with mounting hardware.

If your not sure where they are just ask someone in there, it might take a while but you will probably find someone who knows what you are looking for, lol.

I bought the least expensive plastic glass tracks from Outwater (about 30ft of it). Although I was skeptical about how effective they would be being that they are so lightweight, I now think they are great.

The lower track has a ridge that the glass edge slides on, meaning less friction than a flat-bottom track. Mine work wonderfully and were easy to cut and glue into place (I just used some adhesive from Liquid Nails that is removeable should the track need replacing.)
