I have some baby questions????

onthefly Aug 08, 2006 12:27 AM

(1) I used paper towels and the crickets and the lizards seem to go under the towels

(2) on one of the lizards the anbilical cord is about 1/4-3/8 of an inch long and red, should I be doing any thing about that or just let it fall off

all are doing well and bouncing all over the tank as if they were on springs, they seem to be interested in messing with each other like little kids, they seem to hunt, kill and leave the crickets dead and not eat them yet, a couple got eatten but most of them are lizard toys

I leave the glass bottom for the hatchlings, for that reason, the crickets hide from them under the paper towels and the baby lizards to. You don't want to accidently lean on one if ya don't know he;s there
After a few weeks when they are better hunters and more sure footed I put in paper towels.

Or wait until a few months old and just put in a splattering of washed play sand to get them used to it. By then they are good hunters and only get the cricket not the sand.

Right now they may not eat for a few days to a week. The umbilical cord will dry and fall off. Don't mess with it.

Happy all the kids made it into the world, safe and sound,
