MBK Questions

Geckofanatic23 Aug 08, 2006 01:30 AM

Hi again. I have a couple of questions about Mexican Black Kingsnakes. How large do they grow? What kind of setup would I house it in(tank size, temps, substrate)? Lastly, what is average pricing for a younger individual. The only MBK I have actually seen in person was selling for $85.00, is this normal? Thanks a bunch for any replies! -The Gecko Freak

I've seen MBKs @ shows out her (SoCal) for $40. $85.00's alot of $$$. Renegade Reptiles usually has a good selection of MBKs, and they're cool peeps (will take time to chat & answer all your ?'s) @ IRBA if you're gonna be @ the San Diego show. I think MBKs max out somewhere around 4-5', probably similar in size to Cals. Their care should be pretty similar to Cals & splendidas. I believe their natural range is a bit warmer than Cals or splendidas. They've probably got a pretty good Cal care sheet here somewhere. Good luck.
