honestly each snake is different. depends if its an early 05' or a late 05'. Did she start feeding right away? is she a monster feeder? im gonna say she should be over 300grams by now but there is no real way to tell.

well my 05 females are chow hounds and they are anywhere from 300 -500 grams thats feeding them once a week.this girl is about 420 grams.
My early 05's are between 650 and 900 gms
My smallest late 05 is 500 gms.
, We're 8 months into 06,Personally I'd be suspect of any thing under 450-500. I wouldn't want take on any problem feeders.MHO

All of my 05s are between 450 and 1200 grams. I have 2 that are over 1000 grams and 4 that are over 850. I might even be able to breed a few 05 females this year.

thanks all,
i got an 05 female offered and she is now 337 gram
so i would think she is not an goo eater
regards hans
Small doesn't necessarily mean she's not a good eater. That certainly could be a factor, but another factor is how the snake was fed by the previous owner, and like another poster said, whether its an early 05 or late 05. Heck, there's a whole year there! I have an 05 het pied female that I bought just over 3 weeks ago. She was 240gm when I bought her. She would literally eat every day, and do so like I was starving her. I weighed her this morning, and she is already up to 323gm. Conner saw her at the show that I bought her at. (Remember? I gave you the card from the seller.) On the other hand, I've bought larger animals that were "great feeders" that went off feed as soon as I got them home. The fact that they were yearlings, and larger animals testifies that the seller was being truthful. And I've bought problem feeders from others that have been great eaters for me.
Bottom line... if you like the animal, and you're getting a good deal, and the animal is healthy, why not buy it? She's obviously not going to breed this year, so there's no pressure there, but maybe next year.

The size of the snake won`t tell you if it is a good feeder. As you can see by the other posts. Some feed marginal size meals once a week, and others feed as large a meal as they can (and more often) to promote quicker growth for breeding. So a 300 gram female could be a great feeder. I personally have over a hundred 05 balls from 300 to 700 grams with all of them on a once a week feeding schedule.
