did ya miss me? Just getting back to normal after a week of camping. I was seriously going through KS withdrawels
Had one of the most eventful/interesting trips I've ever had.
Sat, arrived and found my boat windshield was shattered..
That sucked but at least the boat was still ok to drive and ski etc. Took quite some time to get all the safety glass cleaned out even with a shop vac.
Sat night, heard flopping / floundering in the water by our campsite. Investigated and found a large dog drowinig, it was flailing it's leg and completely upsidedown with her head underwater. Pulled her oiut and she was darn near dead. Called animal services, they showed up a couple hours later and she was still laying near our fire where I carried her too. Doing better but still not getting up. They took her in for emergency care, I don't know if she made it.
Sun, Was called by my friends to rescue a rattler the campers up the hill were trying to kill by throwing rocks and sticks. I walked up and picked up the snake (a gopher, not a rattler) and it was fine. Had a few old scars but other than that appeared very healthy. played with for a while, showed it around to all the kids then took it accross the lake finger (a few hundred yards) to release it on the other side. Wilderness over there, no campers.
Mon, called by my friends about another snake swimming towards us. Yup, the same Gopher, I recognised the scars. This time I took it to another location very further away from the campground.
Tue, Called again about yet another snake (no, not the same gopher) This was a garter, again showed it around and released it in the water, it ]swam away.
Many tree frogs, every time I turned around there was another getting into something.
The rest of the week was quiet, only tree frogs and fish.

Thanks,
