This is the same gal...

Isn't it amazing? My female can get SOO dark compared to her normal medium state. My male is the exact opposite, normally he is medium-light, and in his light phase his head is almost white
gotta love 'em! Pretty hogs!

1.1 Hog Island Boas

It IS cool. I love the light color phase they get.
I read somewhere that they hunt sleeping birds by moonlight on
the island they're from, that's probably got something to do with
it.
I love my hogs. I think they're the perfect boa, not too big &
they can look completely different at times...
I have always loved mys Hoggs ability to switch from a beautiful like pink tan color to a dark phase brown and tan hogg. They have always been high on my list of boas and some of my most treasured snakes. Those are some great shots you have of both phases. Thanks for the pics!
Sincerely,
Rose Aguilar

Nice Animals !
The proper term for this is the origin of my posting name
"Metachrosis"
Its also the primary reason I prefer/keep BCI Island ssp.
Roatans,Corns,Hog Isle all have this awesome ability to color shift.Kinda like a living "mood ring" if ya'll remember such ?They shift for many different reasons, time of day, temp, season, feeding etc. I dont believe they make a camera that can actully capture this amazing data correctly.
Then again thats a cool thing thats reserved as the "Keepers Reward"
