hide boxes???

i have a small collection of bp's and currently have hides for them. sometimes i feel that maybe i shouldnt? does anyone have any comments on having hides for bp's? good no good? why?

In a rack system I don't think they are really necessary. Tubs are usually small and dark enough to affored them some security. If you use tanks(aquariums) or larger enclosures I think you should have something to hide in so they have that same security. That being said, individual snakes will sometimes require different situations. Some NEED that hide for security, some don't care one way or the other. As a general rule of thumb though, start out with them and work it out between ya's from there. JMO.

Most of my ball pythons don’t need them but some do. Some of my animals refuse to eat because I assume they do not feel secure. I put in a hide and one week later they bang the [bleep] outta food. 3 outta my 8 BPs use hides. I think they are important if they make your animals feel more secure.
